The office located on 63rd street in the Woodlawn area…was closed the last time I was there.
I applied for SNAP benefits in April of 2020 …I was still living at Jackson Park SLF@1448 E 75th Street, however I believe that Jackson Park SLf was saying that I no
longer was a resident there, however I had been living there for 7years and 4months until I was very abruptly discharged 0n 20April2020 without any advance notice. One or two weeks prior to being discharged I went to the Woodlawn Public aid office and applied for SNAP. I was told that because the State of Illinois still showed 1448 E 75th st. as my address, I probably would be denied. They faxed a form to Jackson Park SLF asking them to verify if I was still living there or not. They asked that Jackson Park fax it back ASAP. After that I don’t know what happened except I was discharged 0n 20April2020.
I stayed with my Niece for approximately a month using her address to apply for SNAP once again, however I still got no response from SNAP. Because of COVID-19 all or most public aid offices were closed…at least the on in Woodlawn.
