My Food Stamps were stolen by someone in New York City

Q) My Food Stamps were stolen by someone in New York City and used my food stamps at a fish market or veggie market. $156 was taken and it’s bad enough we were displaced 8 days ago and now someone stole my food stamps. We have no where to go and Now can’t even eat! Crooked claim agent let our Ins lapse and we were flooded out. I’ve never been in this position! I worked for 30 years and I get sick and become disabled. Now! I’m going to be hungry thru holidays. My daughter and I. She lost leg to cancer and we were scammed and I only get $1,162 a month from SSDI. That’s all!

A) I’m sorry to hear about your situation. It’s important that you report the theft of your food stamps to your local SNAP office as soon as possible. They may be able to replace the stolen benefits and help prevent future fraud. Additionally, you may want to consider contacting local food banks or other organizations that offer assistance with food during difficult times. They may be able to provide you and your daughter with food and resources to help you get through this tough time.

You need to Contact EBT customer service at 1-888-356-3281 right away if your EBT card or PIN is lost or stolen or if you see unauthorized charges. You will need to give them your name, address, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. You will then be issued a replacement card.
